Film Screening: The Great Outdoors, Thursday 1 June, 6pm
summer selling show brings together a fantastic selection of artwork and products that have everything to do with not being indoors, whatever the weather. As it’s festival season the focus of the show is camping and picnicking but with a healthy dose of style and glamour.
The Great Outdoors features camping and nature-inspired prints by Ed Boxall, Adam Bridgland, Sarah Fotheringham and Claire Scully. While sleeping bags, picnic rugs, deckchairs and t-shirts by Anorak, Thornback & Peel and Loglike are provided for those planning a trip this summer. For those not inclined toward the outdoor life, cloud shelves and pigeon lights bring the benefits of the natural world inside, without any of the mess or discomfort! Even bird song is provided with an interactive sound piece by Robert Jarvis.
But this bucolic scene is shattered by an extraordinary tapestry by Edd Pearman, the unsettling films and sculptures of Simon Woolham, and the fairytale craftwork of Lizzie Thomas.
All products and artworks included in the exhibition are for sale. Original artworks are available to purchase through via Arts Council England’s Own Art interest free loan scheme, developed to encourage everyone to develop their own art collections.
