Jonathan Parsons
17 July - 7 September 2008
Jonathan Parsons is fascinated by how the artificial world is constructed. Using a variety of media he investigates ways of seeing and what constitutes a 'picture'. His work intentionally blurs the distinction between images and objects and does not privilege one particular way of making over any other. His diverse work is unified through his love of colour, light and language.Jonathan Parsons was born in 1970 and has been exhibiting internationally since 1997. He was selected for the British Art Show 5 and was one of the youngest artists in Sensation at the Royal Academy of Arts. Recent exhibitions include Shifting Ground (Angel Row), The Jerwood Sculpture Prize (Jerwood Space) and Art Out of Place (Norwich Castle Museum and Art Gallery). His work is represented in public collections in the UK and private collections around the world. For further information see www.jonathanparsons.com
