Find Us

aspex is located in Portsmouth’s Gunwharf Quays, behind Loch Fyne Restaurant in the historic Vulcan Building. The nearest train station is Portsmouth Harbour, which is just ten minutes walk away.

Parking is available in the underground car park at Gunwharf Quays (use the stairs in the far left hand corner to exit on Canalside right opposite Loch Fyne, which means an ever shorter walk). Alternatively, use the Wightlink Car Park just outside the residential entrance of Gunwharf Quays, which has cheaper all day parking rates. See below for an access map.

Disabled Access

We do have a small number of dedicated parking spaces for disabled visitors directly outside the gallery entrance which can be accessed from the residential entrance to Gunwharf Quays. Please call us on 023 9277 8080 or email to reserve a space.

These spaces can be accessed by coming through the main residents’ entrance on Gunwharf Road by the Wightlink Ferry Terminal. When you reach the gate at the entrance you will need to use the intercom number for aspex and will be put through to the gallery; the gate will be opened for you. If using the gate intercom will be difficult, please contact the gallery to arrange assistance. The parking spaces are immediately outside of the gallery main door in the parade ground of the Vulcan Building. The path from the parking spaces to the door is cobbled, but fairly regular and a short distance.

On arrival please check at the information desk to ensure you are correctly parked. Visitors who park in residents’ parking spaces may be clamped, for which the gallery takes no responsibility. The door to aspex opens outwards. An intercom is situated to the right of the large frosted-glass door if you require assistance from staff. Once inside aspex, the exhibition space is all on one flat level. If you require access to the office area upstairs on the Mezzanine, a Platform Lift is available.
