During June aspex is showcasing two makers, ceramicist Lucy Whiting and jeweller Maya Selway. A graduate from the Royal College of Art and winner of Grand Designs Magazines 'Best in Show' at Origin, Lucy Whiting's work is already both collectable and desirable. She makes objects that relate to the domestic and creates relationships between the object and the owner by producing works which intrigue, surprise, amuse and function. The black teapot collection Faith, Hope and Charity and the salt and pepper Orb capture this ethos perfectly while still all being able to go in the dishwasher. Maya Selway is a jeweller based in London. She graduated from Camberwell College of Arts, with further training from Bishopsland in Oxfordshire and Yorkshire Art Space in Sheffield. Flight is an understated quality modern jewellery collection for everyday wear. The collection is hand made in silver using a combination of traditional and contemporary techniques. Prices from both collections start at £40.
