As of 13 August 2017, local social enterprise Lily & Lime LD will no longer operate our in-house cafe.
After two years of partnership, Lily & Lime LD have made the decision to step back and focus on other ventures.
Since joining us in 2015, Lily & Lime LD have grown extensively, now operating in two new sites across the city: Portsmouth Central and Southsea Libraries.
Their programme for young people with learning disabilities has also developed. Those with additional needs are offered the chance to engage and excel through traineeships and apprenticeships, specialising in: catering and hospitality; retail, design and e-business (ARTISAN); work-based skills (Ready Steady Work) and guidance on independent living (Steps to Independence).
Director of Lily & Lime LD, Anita Usai said:
“We have had an amazing two years working with Aspex - an inspiring venue. We are looking forward to the next, exciting stage in our business development and we will continue to work in partnership with the gallery on joint projects in the future”.
Aspex has a track record for supporting local businesses, with eleven individual start-up’s residing on the gallery’s mezzanine level.
Chair of our Board of Trustees, Drusilla Moody said:
“We are delighted to have worked alongside Anita and her team in providing a quality experience to our visitors.
We have seen Lily & Lime LD flourish over the past two years and are excited to see the further development of their award-winning programme”.
We are in the process of sourcing a new cafe partner. The gallery will continue to operate as usual, opening Wednesday - Sunday, 11am - 4pm and Bank Holidays.
