Know Before You Go

In accordance with Government guidance, Aspex is temporarily closed. We look forward to welcoming you back soon!

Access through Gunwharf Quays

  • Pedestrian and cycle access to Gunwharf Quays is currently via Vernon Gate on St George's Road only. In order to safely manage the number of people entering the site, visitors may be asked to queue. Aspex visitors can be fast-tracked through the queue by presenting this Queue Jump Pass to the security staff.

  • Please be aware that Gunwharf Quays has reduced the number of spaces available in their main car park.

Around the gallery

We have made a number of changes around the gallery to keep you safe during your visit.

  • Entry to the gallery is still free and unticketed. All visitors are now required to check-in at reception. In line with Track & Trace guidance, we ask that you give your name and a contact phone number so that you can be contacted in the event that a case of Covid-19 is identified locally. This information will be held and deleted after 21 days.

  • We have installed protective screens at reception and the café.

  • The cafe furniture has been spread out to allow for better social distancing.

  • We have installed a hand sanitising station at reception and we will regularly clean frequently-touched surfaces.

  • Staff and tenants have been asked to wear face masks when moving around public areas of the building.

  • We will only accept card payments in the shop and cafe at this time.

  • Our workshop programme is currently suspended. Instead we are sharing ‘Aspex at Home’ activities via our blog.

How you can help

  • From 8 August it is mandatory for visitors to galleries in England to wear a face covering. Please bring your own mask with you to Aspex.

  • Please be aware of social distancing as you move around the building.

  • Make use of the hand sanitiser station and wash your hands.

  • Do not visit if you feel unwell.

  • Please follow the guidance of our staff.
