David Leefe Kendon
We are delighted to present an exhibition of sculptural works from David Leefe Kendon.
David is an artist working primarily in wood, inspired the formal properties of shape and form.
He works across paper, digital media and wood to explore the intersections of line and shape within interlocking spaces.
“I make work about the way that we make the world for ourselves. Whatever we make, it always reflects us: our hopes, desires, morals etc. Even when we don't want it to. I am interested in the rules that we use to do this, rules of construction, rules of proportion, rules of aesthetic. I am also intrigued by the fact that even if we try to remove ourselves from the result, somehow we are always there.”
David has held a studio at Art Space Portsmouth for the past twenty years. He has previously exhibited at John Hansard Gallery in Southampton (1999) and Quay Arts, Isle of Wight (2001).
All works in this exhibition are for sale.
